Springing Ahead

On Sunday, March 14th, we set the clocks forward again in North America. It’s a fitting time to act and think ahead.
The Conference Board’s Leading Economic Indicators show that the economy is slowly starting to improve. Retail sales in the US were stronger than expected in February. That’s good news at a time when consumer confidence continues to waver.
Judging from our own experience, many businesses moved conservatively on marketing and public relations activities in the first quarter. The truth is consumers are still spending, and it’s important to begin to plan ahead, however modestly, for when the economy does finally turn around.
Here’s one cost-effective way to jumpstart your marketing efforts:
Get the word out.
If you have new products ready for launch, talk about them, and do it loudly and strategically. Refresh old technologies with new applications and approaches, and let the market know about them.
Take advantage of this moment to spring ahead with your PR efforts, so you don’t fall behind later on.
