Email Marketing

Email newsletters appear to be the next logical evolution of the paper newsletter…and many companies have employed them. However, the technology behind them is already taking the next step. Using blog technology and RSS feeds, people can receive small bites of information that can be more effective in communicating with customers, prospects or even employees.
Confused? It’s not really necessary to understand the technology behind all of this. The concept is simple. Instead of publishing a quarterly newsletter and emailing it out as html or even a pdf, why not publish one article at a time and send that out? Web 2.0 technology allows you to do this easily and still have a collection of articles stored online for as long as you want them. You’re really giving people the option of reading one post or many; of skimming what interests them or digging a little deeper.
Oh, and you can also trace what is most interesting to people as they click on emailed posts.
This technology is perfect for most B2B communication because it’s fast, inexpensive to implement, and positions the sender as an information resource which is essential to avoiding the commodity trap.
Anythinggoesmarketing has an article on this that offers up all of the details. You can read it here (Link)
And if you received this post in your email, you’re experience exactly what we’re talking about.
